JANKALYAN MORIGAON, ASSAM is a pioneer Voluntary Organization of Assam and it has been working very sincerely for development of handicrafts and handloom sector, welfare of the artisans, women & child welfare, rural development & poverty alleviation, development of SC/ST/OBC/Minority, entrepreneurship development, Skill development of the youths etc. since its establishment. It was established on 5th September 1977 at Alakapur Jarabari, P.O.- Alikuchi, Distt.- Morigaon, Assam aiming to serve the needy people/downtrodden and to devote duly for welfare and development of the artisans both handloom & handicrafts, SC/ST/OBC/Minority etc. The said organization is situated in such a district where most of the rural people are living in the midst of poverty and they are always fighting to live and to protect their existence.

The organization is highly engaged in promotion, development and marketing of Handicrafts. It has been sincerely working in handicrafts cluster development activities and also for development of traditional crafts/arts since the year 1999. It has the experience of implementing various Govt. sponsored projects relating to development of crafts and other sector.

The major hub of the organization is on employment generation through entrepreneurship development and economic empowerment of the youths/poor artisans through promotion of craft based enterprises. At rural level, the core concentration is on economic empowerment of the disadvantaged strata of the society through community participation in income generating activities.

Loaded with a dedicated, competent and diligent workforce for execution of the activities, Jankalyan Morigaon has acquired a plausible experience in the field of skill development, handicrafts development, enterprise development, artisan welfare, SC/ST/Minority welfare, empowerment of SHGs etc. for the targeted people to surface and raise their hidden talents and skills towards employment and self-employment.
